Ingredients

For the Potatoes
  • 1 lb baby potatoes halved
For the Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon neutral cooking oil
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 3 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1.5 tablespoon sugar
  • 0.75 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
For Garnish
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • 2 tablespoon green onions sliced

Equipment

  • wide pan

Method

Cooking Instructions
  1. Start by washing your baby potatoes thoroughly. If they are on the larger side, slicing them in half will help them cook evenly and absorb that savory sauce.
  2. In a wide pan, heat the neutral cooking oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the potatoes and sauté until they turn lightly golden, about 5 minutes.
  3. Toss in the minced garlic and stir it for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Pour in the soy sauce, sugar, and water, then stir gently to coat the potatoes evenly.
  5. Allow the mixture to simmer uncovered for 20-25 minutes, helping the potatoes become tender.
  6. Once your potatoes are tender, drizzle in the sesame oil and toss everything gently.
  7. Just before serving, sprinkle sesame seeds and sliced green onions on top.
